Key Responsibilities:
•Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including recording transactions, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
• Assist in processing payroll, including calculating employee hours, preparing pay stubs, and ensuring compliance with payroll remittances and related filings.
• Assist clients in maintaining the general ledger, including posting journal entries reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data of clients’ accounts.
• Enter financial data into accounting software systems accurately and efficiently.
• Gather and organize relevant documentation for personal and corporate tax returns.
• Prepare other government remittances, such as HST filings.
• Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing documents, organizing records, and maintaining electronic and physical filing systems.

Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in business administration, accounting, or finance.
• Proven experience working as an Accounting Technician, preferably in a public accounting firm.
• Proficient in using accounting software and tools such as QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Sage, Excel, MS Word and Caseware/Caseview.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work under pressure.
• Ability to work overtime, as needed, to meet client deadlines.
