Rodd Hotels & Resorts is one of Atlantic Canada’s largest privately-owned hotel chain with 7 properties throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

We are currently looking for a Senior Accounting Technician to work out of our Head Office in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.

Reporting to: The Chief Financial Officer

  • Job Summary: The Senior Accounting Technician will oversee the Payroll and Benefit process for our company and assist with general accounting duties.

    Main responsibilities will include but not limited to:

    • payroll administrator
      • review of final payroll prior to finalizing bi-weekly
      • benefit plan administrator (health and RRSP/Pension plan)
      • analytical reporting on payroll
      • ensure all payroll balance sheet accounts are reconciled at the end of pay period
    • Government remittances monthly (worker’s compensation, HST)
    • Assisting in accounts payables review
    • Month end accounting assistance
      • Prepare monthly close journal entries
      • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
    • Provide various daily, weekly and monthly reporting in regards to daily sales and labour

    Successful candidates will have:

    • High level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel) required
    • Certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) is an asset
    • Excellent communication skills required; fluent English
    • 3-5 years accounting and payroll experience
