General Manager



The General Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of property, the rooms division and food service outlets: Trailside Music Hall & Salvador Dali Cafe. This position will formulate policies, manage daily operations, plan the use of materials and people resources, direct sales, and marketing initiatives. The General Manager will have expert knowledge on the hospitality industry, keep up to date on professional development and keep The Arts Hotel up to par on industry standards. This position requires a hands-on approach with the ability to delegate duties where required.

  • Oversee activities directly related to the operation of the hotel and restaurant (kitchen, maintenance, housekeeping, front desk, food and beverage service)
  •  Establish and implement policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with the President of Dyne Holdings, supervisors within the operation and staff members when required
  •  Manage staff, oversee, and approve preparation of work schedules, and assigning specific duties within the various restaurant and hotel departments
  •  Responsible for attendance and performance management
  •  Responsible for payroll, recruitment, new hires and employee terminations
  •  Responsible for ensuring occupational health and safety obligations are fulfilled
  •  Direct and coordinate activities of the property concerned with production, pricing, sales, distribution of products, quality of food and customer service
  •  Review financial statements, sales and activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement.
  •  Determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement
  •  Direct and coordinate financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments and increase efficiency
  •  Responsible for taking initiative on sales promotions
  •  Determine goods and services to be sold, set prices and credit terms based on forecasted customer demands
  •  Ensuring every guest to the hotel and restaurant enjoys their visit


  • Age Requirement: Must be 19 years age or older
  • Education: High School Graduate or equivalent GED, Post Secondary education is an asset
  •  Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a General Manager in the hotel industry
