Job Brief
Barista responsibilities include educating customers and other team members on the drink menu, making recommendations based on customer preference and successfully execute the creation of espresso-based beverage to company standards.
Responsibilities
– Deliver legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude connecting with the customer
– Cleaning espresso equipment
– Prepare beverages to company standards
– Keep your work areas clean and free of unnecessary clutter
– Dialing in and maintain espresso does throughout shift
– Following all company best practices
– Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report maintenance needs
– Comply with all health and safety regulations
– Communicate information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary
– Provide quality beverages, whole bean and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe presentation standards
– Act with integrity, honesty plus knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Receiver
– Maintain a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard to set a positive example for the shift team
Requirements
– Previous relevant experience as a barista
– Hands on experience with brewing equipment
– Knowledge of sanitation regulations
– Flexible to work various shifts (day/evening/weekends/holidays)
– Ability to gauge customers’ preference
– Excellent communication skills, with both customers and coworkers
– Assist with new barista training by positively reinforcing successful performance as well as giving respectful encouraging coaching as needed
Compensation
– $16-18/hr depending on experience
– 50% off food while working
– 25% off most food, drinks and merchandise when not working
