Job Brief
We are looking for an Associate Artist to join our growing art department. This person is going to create 2D/3D assets for games of varying styles and platforms. The ideal candidate would have a variety of styles and skills to draw from. Every project at Iron Fox Games may be different from the last, and as a result we’re looking for someone who likes to routinely stretch their comfort zone.
Here’s what we need in this role:

Create beautiful and intuitive games in both 3D and 2D, on web and mobile platforms.

Build in-game art assets to Visual Arts/client specifications with regular review from senior artists.

Work closely with the Art Director and Senior Artist to gather reference materials and create concepts and deliver quality assets to visual targets and is able to articulate art goals.

Work with clients/supervisors to revise and respond based on feedback for both aesthetic and technical purposes to ensure the deliverables meet expectations.

Proactively work with the Art Director and Producer(s) for tasks, revisions, content pipeline/workflow, training, and creative ideas.

Proactively work with the production artists, designers, and developers to ensure that game assets produced are always game-ready.

Basic industry knowledge in at least one domain. Grow with the business; stretch yourself and learn new skills and domains and stay up to date with industry and studio needs.

Got what it takes?
-
1-2 years of professional experience as a game artist, with work completed on Environments, Props, and Characters.

Experience working on mobile games and web products.

Experience with both 3D and 2D software, such as Maya or Blender.

Excellent skills in creative clouds, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.

Good knowledge of Unity Engine.

Excellent problem solving and strong interpersonal skills. Able to call out challenges and able to suggest solutions to senior artists.

Ability to be flexible. Plans will change, you’re here for the journey as much as the destination.

Collaborative spirit, able to share successes and failures

Salary Range: $45,000 – $60,000 CAD
